Bible Thoughts to Keep Us Connected

God's plans for you are much bigger and better than you ever imagined!  In fact, God's claim on you began long before you were born. Here is a list of descriptive names for those who have put their faith in Christ.


CHOSEN - You were handpicked by God

                                                                Ephesians 1:4

FORGIVEN - All your sins were forgiven before God.  God will not condem you.

                                                                Ephesians 1:6-8

REDEEMED - Your life debt is covered, and you can look forward to rich purpose in God's plan for you

                                                                Ephesians 1:13-14

LOVED - You are deeply loved.  In fact, God gave you his most precious gift - his Son, Jesus.

                                                                Romans 8:39

ACCEPTED - You have been welcomed by God into his family.

                                                                Romans 15:7


ABRAHAM'S OFFSPRING - Abraham is the great patriarch of the Jewish nation.  Abraham is the beginning                                                      of God's faith family - and the father of all those who trust in God.

ATHLETES - In the Bible, the spiritual life is often compared to a foot race.

                                                                 2 Timothy 2:5

BELIEVERS - We are, first and foremost, people who live by faith.

BELOVED - Beloved is a term of deep endearment

                                                                 Romans 9:25

THE BODY OF CHRIST - The New Testament pictures the church of Jesus as a living organism with Christ                                                  as the head and with all Christians making up his body.

                                                                 1 Corinthians 12:27

BRANCHES - Vineyards and grapevines were a common sight in ancient Israel.  The vine is a symbol of                                  God, without whom we could not bear fruit.

BROTHERS & SISTERS - When we first believed, we were adopted into the family of God.

                                                                 Romans 1:13; 8:12; 1 Corinthians 1:10-11

CHILDREN OF GOD - Through the finished work of Christ, God - by his grace and through our faith -                                                       adopts us into his family.  We become "members of his household" (Ephesians 2:19),                                               part of "the family of believers" (Galatians 6:10)

CHILDREN OF PROMISE - Abraham and Sarah, an elderly couple, were promised a "miracle" child but had                                                      to wait 25 years before their child, Isaac, was born.  While waiting, they                                                                    impatiently carried out a plan for Abraham to father a child (Ishmael) with                                                              Sarah's servant Hagar (Genesis 16-21)
